TO GOD BE THE GLORY !!! Music is one universal language that everyone can interpret and enjoy within their own cultures and personal experiences. I am very blessed to have been chosen by God to play since I was twelve (12) years old. I served as organist for my church, Pentecostal Temple Church Of God In Christ, in Florence, S.C. The late Bishop J. H. Sherman, served as Pastor and his beautiful wife, now widowed, Mother Daisy Sherman, were both my spiritual parents in the gospel when I was growing up as a child. I appreciate the training I received as a child growing up in Hartsville, S.C with my mother & grandparents. I was a child that loved to dance and I loved music. Yet, I did not know that God had a divine plan and purpose for my life until around 8 or 9 years old when I accepted Christ. I still loved to dance, but God transformed my heart and mind. I had a new beginning, even as a small child. I have always loved music, even since I was four or five years old. My grandmother purchased a keyboard for me when I was just entering Middle School. My oldest brother had a R&B band and he played a keyboard too. I always loved hymns, broadway, and different genre of music. Yet, I always gravitated towards great gospel music and the things of God. I loved the Word of God even as a little girl reading my Bible. Moreover, I always attended vacation Bible School each summer. During my earlier childhood I would stay close to my oldest sister, so when she left for choir rehearsal I was right there. Or even when she attended church services, I was right there beside her. It appeared that the baptist church was rocking on Sunday Mornings, and I will never forget the beautiful voice my sister had, she has since gone on to be with the Lord. In this very moment of time I consider myself to have been very blessed to have had the opportunity to interact with the most wonderful individuals in the world. I was born in a family of eleven and I am the sixth child. I am a college graduate of Salisbury State University, Salisbury, Maryland. Thus, after high school, I'ved traveled extensively throughout the United States and toured West Germany. I lived in Europe for three years and while there furthered my study and love of music. One day, while working in the medical arena, I felt the urge to go back and complete my degree. I started as a freshman, and four years later I graduated with a B.A. degree in Mass Communications and with a Minor in English. Completing my degree was a major accomplishment for me. It was hard working and going to school full time, but I made it. I was mother, wife, employee and student. There were many demands placed on me being a full time student that needed to be done, but I was determined to succeed. I have learned that it is never too late, to do what God has placed in our hearts to do, for He is faithful. Primarily, this is why the C D Album, 'Jesus Is My Rock' is finally completed, because God placed it on my heart to do this. I have worked many years on this project and this year 2010, God allowed it to come into flourishing. I believe that music heals the heart and that it truly belongs to God. We are just vessels which God takes pleasure in accomplishing His Will on earth as it is in Heaven. We may play an instrument or sing Gods' praises, but it all must be done to the Glory and Power of God. Ultimately, we realize the true source of our gifts and talents; it is given to us by God, even our very existence. By divine Providence I was born in a little town called Hartsville, S.C. I was always in music, starting with the choir at church, the school chorus and eventually the high school chorus and band. It was quite an experience being the only female percussionist in the band. My grandparents, Mr. Jimmy Campbell and Mrs. Maggie Campbell raised me from the age of two years old. I am grateful for both my parents and grandparents who have since gone on to be with the Lord. It has been a marvelous experience in creating the songs that you will hear from the CD, and I pray that it is a blessing to all of you that hear what God has given me. It is all because of Him that I am able to share with you. I am a female organist & keyboardist. I have been playing for several years and I enjoy composing contemporary gospel music. There is this incredible anointing that God has given me to create His songs of praise & worship. I feel very humbled by this experience and I thank God for my wonderful family, which supports me with their prayer and encouragement. I would like to say to you, never give up on your dreams and visions. Whatever God promised you, it will surely come to past. May God Richly Bless & Keep You. Deloris Harmon.
