The book deals with the question of continuity concerning German criminal law in the 20th century. It focuses on the changeful political and juridical development in the last century and eventually shows that the evolution of German criminal law is rather continuous than dominated by turning points. For this purpose, the prohibition of analogy as a fundamental principle is analyzed for its treatment by legislation, court decisions and the scholarly debate of the last 140 years.
